About us
Located in Berkshire, only 1 hour from London and 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport, Wilde Cedar is the perfect venue for one a kind experiences. We look to create incredible memories with likeminded individuals and groups. We are a venue for bespoke private and corporate events, shoots, location hire, retreats, celebrations and more.
The building unifies classical old England with an innovative and contemporary clean space. With enormous sash windows and white washed walls it is simultaneously a blank canvas and ready-made set, full of magnificent objects and backgrounds. .
The venue sprawls out across the ground floor. From the courtyard, the Venetian portico opens up to our art filled entrance hall. This leads you to the 2000sq ballroom with floor to ceiling sash windows, boasting views of our magnificent Cedars. One end an area for lounging and the other a 20 person dining table.
The Grand staircase is made for an entrance unlike any other or a perfect stage for a speech and the enchanting Orangery is filled with natural light.
There are also seven bedrooms available upon request. If you have any queries, please do get in touch.
The grounds
Wilde Cedar, a 1775 Grade II*listed country mansion, sits proudly in beautiful grounds, opposite two stoic and sprawling cedar trees (Cedrus Liabani). Corners of the parkland are peppered with daffodils and bluebells in the spring and bright pink Rhododendrons in the summer. You will have six acres to yourself and your guests, where deer and pheasants roam freely.
Take in the luscious surroundings whilst dipping in the outdoor pool, a one-of-a-kind experience by the olive grove. Light pours through the sash windows, particularly in the plant filled orangery. Perfect for a coffee or martini. A lunch table seats 16 with views of the grounds and trees. The heated pool and sun loungers make for the perfect spot to recline and relax and enjoy the luxurious, private surroundings.
Our history
The history of the surrounding area is a tale of many greats from art, architecture and literature. Wilde Cedar’s bold and bright red brick was sourced from the famous Binfield Brick & Tile Company, the same bricks used to create the incredible Royal Albert Hall, London.
The local inn, Stag & Hounds, is a stone’s throw away, and said to be a royal hunting lodge visited by King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I, originally being at the very centre of Windsor Great Park.
One of England’s greatest Romantic artists, John Constable, spent his honeymoon at the Binfield Rectory & Church in 1816 and sketched the local 'All Saints Church’.
The famous poet, Alexander Pope, lived at Pope's Manor in the next door village and sang in the church choir as a boy in the early 1700s.
Wilde Cedar pays homage to great international artistry and the transition from classical to modern art, design and philosophy, with the aim to continue inspiring great enterprises.
